Katie lit our whole household from within during the five years we were blessed to work with her. She is a truly unique person, whose expertise, intuitiveness, patience, empathy and creativity are reflected in every aspect of the support she provides. She is a gifted chef, an experienced caregiver, an excellent household manager, and a brilliant person who has spent many years in a state of active learning, research and curiosity, driven by her love of babies and children, and her deep appreciation and respect for their personhood.

Katie’s approach to infant care and childcare is rooted in a keen awareness of and responsiveness to babies’ and children’s emotional, creative, physical, nutritional, and intellectual needs. Her presence in the home is calm, unrushed, and comforting, while also feeling very unobtrusive. She’s all about providing support that allows a family to connect and rest together, which allows parents to replenish so that they can wholly show up for their kids and themselves.  She anticipates a household’s needs, and is able to compassionately meet a postpartum mother’s needs, while remaining extraordinarily flexible when it comes to giving support and aid where it’s needed most.

Katie’s approach to babies is deeply authentic and respectful, which my children loved and trusted from the moment they came home from the hospital. Seeing how safe my babies felt with her allowed me to rest during my postpartum healing. I was also on an extremely restrictive diet due to my breastfed babies’ food intolerances, and Katie prepared beautiful and nourishing food that adhered to my restrictions while being delicious. She really lifted my sense of discouragement around what had felt like impossible dietary limitations.

To anyone considering working with Katie, congratulations, you are so lucky! She will always be a part of our family, and I have no doubt that she will bring joy and magic to yours as well.
